Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb. It鈥檚 a medical condition that affects black women more than any other race - some have put the number of black women who will be affected by fibroids as high as 80% - making it an unavoidable health condition for many women. Some living with fibroids live without discomfort, but for many, the pain and bleeding can be debilitating. As Azeezat Olaoluwa reports, although the condition affects millions of women globally, there is a scarcity of medical research available on the risks and treatments available.
