麻豆社

Internationally renowned composer Errollyn Wallen CBE鈥檚 was born in Belize and moved to London at the age of two. Studying composition at Goldsmith鈥檚 College and King鈥檚 College London, and completing a Masters in Philosophy from King鈥檚 College Cambridge, her illustrious career has gone from strength to strength since she came to the fore in the 1990s.

Her works have been performed throughout concert halls and theatres worldwide and in 1998 she became the first black female composer to ever have a work performed at the 麻豆社 Proms. Drawing on a range of styles from avant-garde classical music to popular song writing, she has had works performed at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games, at numerous music festivals and also as the theme song for the 麻豆社 drama One Night.

NNENNA, a septet for clarinet, bassoon, horn, violin, viola, cello and double bass, was premiered in November 2018 by the Chineke! Ensemble at the Cambridge Music Festival and perfectly marries her love of the avant garde and popular tunes.
