Has Trump's 'beligerent' trade policy benefited America?
When President Trump was sworn in, he vowed to pursue 'America first' policies. This push to make American manufacturing great again is transforming relations with the rest of the world by dismantling established bonds and challenging foreign competition. This has resulted in Trump renegotiating the agreements with many of America's major trading partners, including China, but his policies may have had an unanticipated knock-on effect - to bring countries that have been excluded, closer together. Chad Bown, a Senior Fellow from the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, assesses the impact of Trump's policies.
