The public interest broadcaster behind it, Al Mirbad, is a rare and trusted voice for news and information in Basra. It鈥檚 playing a critical role in communicating health information during the pandemic so that people can make decisions to keep themselves and their families safe and healthy.
On YouTube, Al Mirbad鈥檚 satirical skits and factual videos continue to become even more popular 鈥 providing both useful information and light relief to audiences. This hugely popular song -- which explains the need for a lockdown and supports the medical and security services 鈥 has been viewed over 7 million times, and even been played on loudspeakers in hospitals in Baghdad.
