Philanthropy fighting COVID-19
With over 700,000 global cases, COVID-19 has kept the world off balance, medically and economically.
This disruption is bringing philanthropy front and center, with world leaders, individuals and major companies pulling together funds and resources to mitigate the economic downturn.
We speak to Narendra Guru, a Kenyan industrialist on the impact philanthropy has in the fight against the pandemic.
Also; informal employment contributes 83% of all jobs in Kenya, with those workers particularly vulnerable, living from pay cheque to pay cheque.
This makes it difficult for those working in the informal economy to stay home even as countries impose strict measures to minimize movement of people.
We hear straight from the horses mouth on the fears informal workers have who can't stay home.
