The Llandow air disaster
Gareth Rhys Owen tells the story of the Llandow air disaster, 70 years since the crash.
On the 12th of March 1950, shortly after 3pm, a plane crashed into the ground near the village of Siginstone, in the Vale of Glamorgan. There were 78 Welsh rugby supporters and five crew members on board. Eighty people died in the worst aviation disaster the world had seen at that time. Gareth Rhys Owen recounts the story of the Llandow air disaster.
