Valentine鈥檚 day is a major commercial event for most gift shops and romance-oriented businesses. However, a recently released Kaspersky report shows it is also a cash event for online scammers. Africa experienced more than 7,700 cyberattacks through dubious dating apps, costing victims in Nigeria alone over US$ 201 million in 2019. 麻豆社鈥檚 Sharon Machira looks at the vulnerability of dating apps in Africa.

South Africa is looking at various measures to rejuvenate their economy and manage rising unemployment. The measures were highlighted by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa during his annual state of the nation address held on 13th February 2020.

The address comes in the shadow of struggling state corporations that add to the 29 percent unemployment level if let unchecked. We look at the current state of South Africa and the measures aimed to address them.
