'History will judge him a hero'
In an essay for Weekend, Martin Chulov pays tribute to his friend James Le Mesurier, who died in Istanbul last week. Le Mesurier led and directed the White Helmets, a network of first responders, whose job it was to pull people from the rubble in the aftermath of Russian and Syrian regime airstrikes in rebel-held areas of Syria.
