Does the gig economy exploit or liberate people's working lives?
Gig economy workers sell their services - but without the standard employee's rights such as pensions, sick pay and holiday entitlement.
British director Ken Loach latest film Sorry We Missed You focuses on how workers are increasingly taken on by companies without the normal rights of of an employee, as part of the 'gig economy'. It's becoming increasingly common across the world, but it's often critised for not providing workers with accesss to benefits such as pensions, sick pay and holiday entitlement, and leaving workers in a precarious position if they are unable to work. Others however see it as a way for workers to gain more freedom over their working lives, and enjoy more flexibility and variety.
What did people who work in this way make of the film?
