麻豆社

In 2018, Xia, at the age of 18, was selected from hundreds of entrants as one of the winners in the Senior category of the annual 麻豆社 Young Composer Competition. As part of their prize they received a 麻豆社 commission to write a piece for vocal ensemble VOCES8 to perform at the 麻豆社 Proms. Earthward received its world premiere at the Cadogan Hall Prom on 22 July 2019, alongside music by Jonathan Dove and other influential choral composers.
