Originally intended to form the middle movement of a trilogy of overtures named 鈥楴ature, Life and Love鈥�, the Carnival Overture displays all the syncopated rhythms of his native Bohemia which Dvo艡谩k was famous for incorporating into his music. In the syncopated figurations written for the woodwind section, Dvorak brings the hustle and bustle of street life to listeners' ears with great effect.
