Living as a modern-day slave in India
Shanti was recently rescued from a brick kiln in northern India where she worked as a bonded labourer for about 21 years. She says she worked 17-hour days and lived with 500 others in an enclosed area. In return for her work, she got some food, but no money. She is undergoing rehab in a shelter home run by a charity in New Delhi.
