When it was published in December 2015, "An Unbelievable Story of Rape", an article by two American journalists - T. Christian Miller of ProPublica and Ken Armstrong of The Marshall Project, it went viral. It reads like fiction, but the article tells a true story: that of 18 year old Maria, who said she was attacked at knifepoint, only to retract her story because nobody believed her. Her rapist was, I should say, eventually caught. The article, a work of investigative journalism, doesn't stop at chronicling one horrifying sexual assault, but unfolds into a story of multiple attacks by a potential serial rapist.
