Why is women's body hair so controversial?
Januhairy is a month-long campaign urging women to embrace their body hair, avoid shaving and raise money for a UK charity which teaches young people about body image. But as it comes to end - we ask why women's body hair is still so political? Is some body hair considered more socially acceptable to see than others? And where did the taboo about this all begin? Chitra Ramaswamy is a freelance journalist based in Edinburgh. KarÃn Lesnik-Oberstein is a Professor for the Department of English Literature at the University of Reading. She’s also the author of The Last Taboo: Women and Body Hair. They both join Jenni Murray to discuss.
