France's finance minister Bruno Le Maire has dismissed claims from critics that President Macron is a president for the rich.

He told Hardtalk's Stephen Sackur that it was an "unfair" criticism.

Mr Le Maire said the president's reforms were "radical" and it was difficult to explain to people "that when you are reducing the level of taxation on the richest people... it is not to make some gift to the richest people, it is to help our industry to invest and innovate".
