It was one of the most surprising announcements of 2018 - and one that very few people expected.
In fact, there was a real outpouring when Jersey Reds stalwart Joel Dudley announced that he was having to retire from the game with immediate effect after being diagnosed with a blood clot.
So, what has the life been like since for the Reds' longest-serving player - and what does 2019 have in store for him?
