NASA veteran Bill Anders, who was part of the first manned mission to leave Earth's orbit, has told 麻豆社 Radio 5 Live that the idea of sending astronauts to Mars is 鈥渟tupid鈥�.

Speaking as part of 5 Live's coverage marking the fiftieth anniversary of the mission, he said sending crews to the Red Planet was "almost ridiculous".
