How cosplaying Call of Duty saved Thomas鈥檚 life
In 2016 Thomas, a registered first aider, was called outside of his workplace to help someone with multiple stab wounds. He managed to keep the victim alive until the paramedics arrived, but the following day was informed that the victim had succumbed to his injuries. One year on, Thomas was unable to stop re-playing the event over and over in his head, and he was diagnosed with PTSD. Now he uses cosplay to help him escape into a different world. His character of choice is Ghost from Call of Duty - someone who, Thomas explains, has also suffered with a form of PTSD but refuses to give up and fights for what he believes in.
