Why do writers retell old myths and legends?
What is it about myths and legends that provides such an enduring source of inspiration for writers and readers alike? Ancient Greek, Roman and Norse myths and classic Hindu texts that have all been re-told and re-interpreted down the centuries, but what provides their unique fascination successive generations?
