Basingstoke's Winter Olympians Reunited
Here's a story from Basingstoke with a twist of fate.
Two ice skating coaches based at the arena were introduced to one another, but never knew that their paths had almost crossed a couple of decades before.
Andrew Place and Ronald Duncan are former GB Olympians and actually competed at the same winter olympic Games for in 1992 at Albertville in southwest France, Andrew was an ice dancer and Ronald competed in the skiing.
Andrew Place, Ice Dancing Olympian:
"When I moved back to coaching in the UK I started at Basingstoke Ice Rink and there was a request book on the reception desk, and there was a request from a guy wanted to improve his ice hockey skating.
"So I met Ronald and he said "you went to Olympics" I said yes and the he said "so did I."
"There was certainly a lot of us at the opening ceremony I certainly remember that."
