Alcohol misuse the "greatest healthcare problem facing Northern Ireland"

From 2001 to 2016, more than 3,500 deaths in Northern Ireland were attributed to alcohol.

The number of alcohol related deaths here is at a record high according to figures obtained by 麻豆社 News NI. Between 2001 and 2016, more than 3,500 deaths in Northern Ireland were attributed to alcohol - that's more than four-a-week on average. Stephen spoke to GP Dr George O'Neill who is chair of Addiction NI, Eamon Foley from Strabane was a homeless street drinker, and journalist and travel writer Tim Hedgley gave up drink in January this year.
