The former London city worker who helps lonely OAPs
Mike is 32, and used to have a well-paid city job in London. Yet feeling unfulfilled he decided to head home to Doncaster - moving back in with his parents - so he could set up a charity to help put a stop to loneliness in the elderly community. Now, he pairs up elderly people with local volunteers so they can meet up once a week for a cup of tea and a chat. Mike also hosts weekly social events giving people an opportunity to have fun, like 81鈥搚ear鈥搊ld Dallas who felt lonely after her husband of 47 years passed away.
