From Russia with love...

This time last month the World Cup was just getting under way.

One voice you heard during the tournament was that of ITV's lead football commentator and Arborfield resident Clive Tyldesley, covering his seventh World Cup.

He told 麻豆社 Radio Berkshire's Kirsten O'Brien more about his time in Russia.

Clive Tyldesley, ITV Football Commentator:

"Even at this stage of my career I've never broadcast to as large an audience as ITV had for the semi-finals, to put it into some context 27 million people. A big Super Sunday on Sky Sports might get 2.5 million peak.

"This thing got a hold of people. It focuses the mind when you have an idea that there might be 27 million people listening to what you are saying.

"In a game of that scale there is an argument for explaining the offside rule...part of the challenge was getting a challenge of being accurate, and riding the wave a little bit."
