James cut his teeth with Chelsea before forming the Billy Idol fronted Top of the Pops favourites Generation X, He later jumped ship to join Kim Wilde’s band and has since then passed through the ranks of the Cult, Gene Loves Jezebel, the Alarm, Holy Holy, and the International Swingers – and is still playing with a number of them to this day.
