Coronation Street stars launch disabled artists forum
Coronation Street actors Cherylee Houston and Melissa Johns have launched a new networking initiative for disabled artists and performers in the North West of England.
Disabled Artist Network Community (DANC) aims to create a space where performers can learn from each other and not generate a divide between artists with disabilities and the industry guests that speak at their events.
With disabled people under-represented in the arts, Cherylee and Melissa are hopeful that DANC meetings will break down barriers and create new opportunities for disabled artists outside of the silo of disability arts.
