Hello Stranger: The dating show with hypnosis
Aaron Calvert, the hypnotist for Channel 4 TV show Hello Stranger, says the couples participating in the show believe every step.
In the programme, a couple who want to reinvigorate their relationship undergo "amnesia hypnosis鈥 to forget each other. The participants then go on three dates; two with strangers and one with their partner.
Speaking to Nihal Arthanayake on 5 live鈥檚 Afternoon Edition, Calvert explained he and the producers had to go to great lengths to make sure the couple, Lucy and George, believed what was happening.
He said: 鈥淲e took away anything that could trigger them, like their mobile phones, or their perfumes or their aftershaves. The crew weren鈥檛 allowed to say the partners name on set at any point, so that we create this whole world around them and we test them,鈥 he added.
Hello Stranger is on Channel 4 on Tuesday night at 10pm.
