Driverless cars are being developed across the globe and could be on our roads in the next few years.

The technology is still only in the testing phase but there are trials happening daily in lots of countries.
The road from human to automated driving is not exactly straight forward though, safety is a huge issue.

Richard Cuerden from the Transport Research Laboratory in the UK tells us more.
