Gender pay gap reporting deadline: What's next?

It's the deadline for private companies with more than 250 staff to publish the median of how much their male employees earn compared to women. But now we have this information, what do we do with it? How can companies change to balance their pay structure? And what can individuals to to make their own pay fairer?
