Patagonia national parks tourism boost
Chile hopes to develop five national parks in the Patagonia region after receiving a gift of land from the late founder of the North Face brand. Douglas Tompkins, who poured millions into conservation, died after falling into freezing waters during a kayak accident in southern Chile.
The nature conservation could be a major boost for Chile's efforts to diversify its economy away from the copper industry by promoting tourism. 麻豆社 reporter Jane Chambers went to a remote valley in the region to find out more.
