Why are dung beetles so strong?
Pound for pound, the dung beetle is a contender for world’s strongest animal. One species, the horned dung beetle, can pull an object more than a thousand times its own body weight. Carmen Solan, senior invertebrate keeper at Bristol Zoo in the UK, explains why the insects need to be so strong.
