Northants councils have invested almost £90m in property
Councils in Northamptonshire have invested almost £90m in external property deals, the Â鶹Éç has discovered.
The investments are one way in which local authorities are hoping to fill the government funding gap.
In the past three years alone, the county's eight local authorities have invested more than £30m in property.
In all, councils are bringing in almost £7m a year.
Chief executives up and down the county will also be hopeful the properties will eventually sell for more than was originally paid for them.
