Lakefest highlights: Creation Records

Lakefest highlights: Creation Records
They were one of the most influential independent record labels in the world - and this week, we meet the former managing director of Creation Records.
Ìý
We bumped into Tim Abbott backstage at the Eastnor Castle Deer Park during Lakefest and chatted to him about Oasis, Primal Scream and Fatboy Slim.
Ìý
Many people in Herefordshire know the founder, Alan McGee, now lives in Hay-on-Wye.
Ìý
So we saw our chance meeting with Tim as an opportunity to ask about breaking into the music industry!

Bromyard Folk Festival

Bromyard Folk Festival
One of the country's longest-running folk events is celebrating it's 50th anniversary in Herefordshire this weekend.

Upton Festival highlights
Six thousand people turned out for the Upton Festival over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Ìý
This year, it featured a host of pop legends including Paul Young, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Blue and Heatwave - and has been described by organisers as the best one yet.
Ìý
They've already announced Status Quo as next year's headliners - but, as we hear on this week's show, most of the crowd (it appeared) were there to see Kim Wilde!

New album: Overend Watts

New album: Overend Watts
Ross-on-Wye's Overend Watts, who died earlier this year, was a bass player, record producer, songwriter, author and founder member of Mott the Hoople, and the driving force behind the reunion shows of 2009 and 2013.
Ìý
Before his death, following a long illness, he finally completed the solo album he'd been promising to deliver to his legion of fans for the past decade.
Ìý
'He's Real Gone' was originally called 'She's Real Gone', after track 1, but decided it would be funnier to release the work posthumously and to rename the album.
Ìý
All songs, apart from the final track, were recorded in Herefordshire. That song is Overend's original demo of the song Born Late 58 which he sang on Mott The Hoople's final album in 1974.
