Is this the most uplifting finale ever?
Looking for music that will help you scale mountains, go the extra mile, become a better person and generally save the universe? This is it.
The Â鶹Éç Symphony Orchestra and conductor Sakari Oramo are joined by soloists Elizabeth Watts and Elisabeth Kulman and a massed choir in the finale of Gustav Mahler’s epic "Resurrection" Symphony.
As the emotional rollercoaster of the symphony's fifth movement reaches its peak, the choir sing words written by Mahler himself: "Rise again - yes, you will, my heart, in an instant!" Sit as close as you can to your speakers, or grab your best headphones and turn the volume up to 11.
This is an clip from Prom 45: Mahler – ‘Resurrection’ Symphony. Listen to the symphony in full by clicking through to the episode on the Radio 3 website.
