Melissa Gauger, a Liam Gallagher fan from Chicago, joked on 5 live that she didn鈥檛 think that the 鈥業 love Noel鈥� sign that she and her friends had created for the gig would be 鈥榓 big deal鈥�, after Liam Gallagher left the stage partway into his set. The singer walked off stage at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago after only a few songs - having opened with Oasis hits 'Rock 'n' Roll Star' and 'Morning Glory', before airing new solo tracks 'Wall of Glass' and 'Greedy Soul'. She levelled with 5live:

鈥淚 mean, if he says it鈥檚 his voice I do believe him鈥� I really don鈥檛 think, at this stage in his career, it was all down to me to make him cancel a whole performance鈥�

She continued:

鈥淚t was really just kind of a big joke that, I think, a lot of people caught on to.鈥�

Liam Gallagher has apologised to fans and tweeted after the concert that voice problems were the reason for the show being cut short.
