The sign that stopped a concert… maybe… probably not.
Melissa Gauger, a Liam Gallagher fan from Chicago, joked on 5 live that she didn’t think that the ‘I love Noel’ sign that she and her friends had created for the gig would be ‘a big deal’, after Liam Gallagher left the stage partway into his set. The singer walked off stage at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago after only a few songs - having opened with Oasis hits 'Rock 'n' Roll Star' and 'Morning Glory', before airing new solo tracks 'Wall of Glass' and 'Greedy Soul'. She levelled with 5live:
“I mean, if he says it’s his voice I do believe him… I really don’t think, at this stage in his career, it was all down to me to make him cancel a whole performance”
She continued:
“It was really just kind of a big joke that, I think, a lot of people caught on to.”
Liam Gallagher has apologised to fans and tweeted after the concert that voice problems were the reason for the show being cut short.
