Surprise poker star wants to bring Vegas to Bridlington
John Hesp - the amateur poker playing grandad from Bridlington - hopes his new found stardom can persuade organisers of the prestigious World Series of Poker to bring the finals back to his native Bridlington.
A far cry from the £10 buy-in of his old casino on the Yorkshire Coast, John is set to win at least $1million at the tournament in Las Vegas. He could take home $8million should he win the competition.
He told Â鶹Éç Radio 5 live: "I can now officially confirm I'm at least a dollar millionaire, but I would have paid another $10,000 to them for the experience I've enjoyed over the last two weeks. It's been unbelievable."
