'Poet Benjamin Zephaniah at Latitude festival'
One of the pioneers of the performance poetry scene in Britain, Benjamin Zephaniah has told 5 live's John Pienaar that if there was a Brexit-type vote over whether black people should remain or leave the UK, people would opt for 'out'. Performing his dub reggae album 'Revolutionary Minds' at the Latitude festival in Suffolk, Mr Zephaniah said 'We'd never have that kind of vote in this country, I hope but I feel in the privacy of the ballot box, I think a lot of people would vote that way.'
