Is there more abuse in politics today?
There was a "civilised election" in 2015 but campaigning "got a lot more personal" at the 2017 general election, with political supporters being trolled and abused, says Conservative MP Simon Hart. He has called a debate in the Commons on the subject later this week.
But Labour MP Tulip Siddiq says she has been abused online since 2010, mainly because she is a woman, and this was long before Jeremy Corbyn was known to most people, after claims his supporters were partly to blame.
