Opera for babies?
BambinO is a piece of music theatre aimed at an audience that often gets overlooked in the world of opera 鈥 babies.
Following it鈥檚 premiere at the Manchester International Festival, director Phelim McDermott spoke about the aims of the piece:
鈥淲e wanted to make sure that in 25 years time, if someone said 鈥淲hen did you see your first opera?鈥 they would say 鈥淥h - I was six months old鈥.
The youngsters watching the performance have reacted in varying ways, from being "really engrossed" to "terribly moved and cry".
"I hope it brings opera to lots of new ears," added composer Lliam Paterson.
