GP on NHS cyber-attack: ‘At the moment we’re stuck'
A suspected cyber-attack on the NHS has affected at least 16 organisations across the UK, including hospitals and GP surgeries. Many staff are unable to access any of their normal records, and have had to resort to using paper notes and asking non-emergency patients to return at a later date.
Dr Tarek Seda from Kings Mill Hospital in the West Midlands told 5 live the cyber-attack is “a real shame.â€
“At the moment we are stuck.â€
“Time here is of the essence. If we have someone with a heart attack and they need emergency blood tests, it’s going to take us more time and people could die.â€
