Rescuing Chooty: Sri Lanka’s baby elephant orphanage
As Sri Lanka’s human population grows, people are increasingly coming into conflict with wild elephants.
The Elephant Transit Home in Udawalawe National Park rehabilitates orphaned or sick elephants and releases them back into the wild.
At 10 days old, Chooty Manika, or ‘Little Princess’, is the home’s youngest resident.
