A cluster headache sufferer has described the horrendous and debilitating pain brought on by the condition which can occur up to 10 times a day.
Carolyn Matheson told 5 live Breakfast about the first time she experienced a cluster headache: 鈥淚t was like an iron rod going through my head, a knife being stabbed and turned round in my eye and it lasted for an hour and a half.鈥
鈥淚 could rip my eye our at times it鈥檚 so bad. If there鈥檚 nothing to take the pain away I don鈥檛 know what to do with myself.鈥
