Westmacott: 'Trump damaging intelligence relationship'

President Trump shouldn't 'damage our intelligence relationship' says former ambassador

Hearings are being held on alleged Russian interference in the US election campaign, at Capitol Hill. The hearing will also examine President Trump's claim that his "wires were tapped" by the Obama administration. The FBI director James Comey and National Security Agency director Mike Rogers will give evidence to the House of Representatives Intelligence Committee.

Sir Peter Westmacott, former British ambassador to the US, tells Justin Webb that President Donald Trump shouldn't "gratuitously damage the trust that is so important to our intelligence relationship by peddling falsehoods" as it would be a "gift to our enemies".
