Sickle Cell disease: Could there be a cure?
There may be hope for people of African Caribbean descent who suffer from Sickle Cell disease following the publication of new research.
The New England Journal of Medicine has highlighted the case of one teenager in France who has been making normal blood since a new treatment was started 15 months ago.
Professor Stephen Hyde is from the Gene Medicine Research Group at the University of Oxford,and speaks about the therapy in this extract of a longer interview with 麻豆社 presenter Dr Joe Aldred
