Get off my Land - Blur's Alex James on hosting a Festival in his (very big) garden
Blur's Alex James chats to Matt Everitt about his Big Feastival Festival
He lives in a house, a very BIG house in the country. So big in fact, that he's hosting a festival in his garden.
This is of course, The Big Feastival Festival., the brilliant annual music and food event which takes place in the grounds of Blur bassist Alex James' farm in the Cotswolds, in fact Alex runs the event as well as hosting it.
This year the line-up includes headliners Madness, Olly Murs and Haçienda Classical- the collaboration between the Manchester Camerata orchestra and Hacienda DJs Graeme Park and Mike Pickering and Peter Hook - he of New Order and Joy Division - who perform classics from the dancefloor rearranged for an orchestra - plus The Cribs, Dodgy, De La Soul and Norman Jay MBE
And then you've got cooks doing demos and masterclasses Rick & Jack Stein and Antonio Carluccio. The whole thing has a family vibe too, so there's Dick and Dom and Justin Fletcher and loads of activities.
Matt Everitt has been speaking to Alex James himself, to see how preparations have been going…
