Pensioner left 'vulnerable' over scam

An Essex pensioner says she has never felt so vulnerable after almost falling victim to a phone scam.

Hazel Harwood was told by a fake phone line provider she had accidentally been refunded 拢10,000 and was asked to transfer the money back.

When the 71-year-old from Laindon tried to pass over the cash to the fraudsters, her bank stepped in after an irregularity with the transaction was flagged up.

In an emotional interview with 麻豆社 Essex Ms Harwood said she was angry at herself for letting it happen.
