A man who lost his job while recovering from meningitis says he has spent all his savings while trying to find a new workplace.

Gerry Smith, from Westcliff-on-Sea, was one of 57 people let go from a Southend call centre in November.

With 30 years of administration experience behind him, Gerry hopes he can get back to work before Christmas.
