Siglo de Oro performs Peter Warlock's unbearably poignant carol, Bethlehem Down
This masterful festive miniature was written in 1927 by Peter Warlock to words by Bruce Blunt. The pair were drinking buddies and wrote the carol to finance an "immortal carouse", later deciding to submit it to a newspaper carol competition. They won.
