Tim Montgomerie and Tory MP Daniel Kawczynski traded barbs as they debated Russian foreign relations towards its Baltic neighbours and in the Middle East.

The columnist said the MP, who who sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee, was a "spokesman and apologist for these regimes".

But Mr Kawczynski said the views of Mr Montgomerie were "highly dangerous" and that "we need to engage with Russia".
