Football abuse probe involves 55 clubs
The number of clubs involved in the police inquiry into child abuse in football has reached 55 and is expected to rise further, the lead for child protection on the National Police Chiefs’ Council has said.
Chief Constable Simon Bailey told the Victoria Derbyshire programme the clubs ranged from those in the Premier League to those at the grassroots level.
Joanna Gosling also heard from Neil Henderson, the chief executive of Safeline, and Alan Robertson, an independent sexual violence adviser at Survivors UK.
