The Oxford Book Club - Alison Boulton
David is joined in the studio by journalist and author Alison Boulton. They discuss the Oxford Literary Festival's U-turn over refusing to pay authors who talk at the event. Alison recommends The Ambassador's Wife's Tale by Julia Miles - "A wonderful stocking-filler which is funny, incisive, bold and revealing. Her husband Oliver was British Ambassador to Libya when they were held hostage by Colonel Gaddaffi". BlackOut is a work of older teen fiction by Sam Grenfall - "very exciting, well written teenage fiction book for boys. Young James Bond meets Breaking Bad". Also the "beautifully written and thought provoking" Writing the 9/11 Decade by Charlie Lee-Potter on the challenges of reporting the 9/11 attacks and the events which followed.
